Wow....

I know its been a really long time since Either of us has posted, but I guess I just got busy with school, and then after school was over, I totally forgot that I had a blog about St. Baldricks. Well, anyways, it is now September, and it has officially been 6 months since I shaved my head. My hair is growing out nicely, and my team raised about 600 dollars. I am hoping to do it again next year, and I am already recruiting and raising money. So far I have the same people who did it last year doing it, and then some extra's. So far there's Grace, Josh, Jake, Zach, Andrew, and myself (Melanie). Thats who did it last year. The newest recruits for 2011 are: Ellie, Kierra, and Caroline. There are also some undecideds, well actually only one right now, but Shannon is thinking about doing it, so that is exciting! Well I think this post was just to tell people I'm sorry for not posting sooner, and that I totally forgot. If you are angry at me, I give you full permission to slap me upside the head with a fish! :) Well thats all for now, and thank you for bearing with me on these 6 months of forgetfulness and hair growing!

Friday!!!!

We are shaving out heads on Friday!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness, this is so exciting and nerve wracking. I have raised $126 in the past two weeks, and I have created a team to help me. Five wacky teenagers are shaving their heads and trying to raise money for childrens cancer. Will you be a part of it? how much will you pay to see us shave our heads? How much will you pay to see childhood cancer treated and ended? These are questions we are asking and people have responded in amazing ways. Thank you to everyone who has donated and helped this amazing cause.

Ummm?

Now I am trying to get more people to do St. Baldricks with me, but not many will. You wouldn't believe how vain some high schoolers are! I only have a few of my friends doing it and everyone else doesn't believe that i would be stupid doing it. Not many of them know what it is like to not have anything and then to have some stranger perform an act of kindness, it is really uplifting. What most people don't realize if you are that stranger it also feels really good to do it. Even if you don't get anything out of it. I would like to help someone by giving up my hair so that they can have some. I think that it will be fun. Right now i am sticking up on hats, so I won't have to wear a wig to school. I think that defeats the purpose to donate all of your hair to make a wig for a cancer patient and then go and buy one for yourself. This will be fun, and anyone else who is going to do it, try to convince some of your friends to do it too. Think of all the people we could help if we got some people to do it Nation wide, at different conventions. I think that would be a statement if we could change lives, just us, a bunch of teenagers. I really want to feel like i have helped changed someones life. Well that's all I have today, so to everyone doing it recruit your friends, raise money, have fun!

Stupid swine flu

I hate the swine flu!!!

I am pretty sure that we have gotten some more people to do St. Baldricks with us, but I am unsure because half the people I talked to are sick. Stupid H1N1!!!! 33% of our school is out and 20% of the district is gone!!!! 157 people were gone on Tuesday!!! That is so not cool!!!
Well, Hope that all the people out there with swine flu get better quickly and try to be really good about washing hands and such. And people who don't have it should be washing hands and be aware too....... I guess......... Get better everyone!!! Love you all!!!! Good Luck, and remember to keep reading. Oh, about that..... I am sorry that I couldn't post sooner school has kept me kinda busy along with practicing, talking, and trying to stay sane, life is pretty boring!!! Too much Drama!!! But then hey life would be boring wouldn't it?!?!?

I will try to keep you posted, and thanks for being patient with me.

So I talked to the principal yesterday about doing St. Baldricks and he was wo enthusiastic about it!!! He said that I could get on the loudspeaker to try and get people to do it or donate for it... Isn't that exciting?!?!?! I might be able to go down to the middle school, but that is still a maybe...so...... Anyway this is all so exciting and we will begin fundraising very shortly....... Oh and we can also go and meet a child who has luekemia, so maybe more people will want to do it if they now the person... Wish us luck on our journey to raise money and to get volunteers!!!
